YEAH. I've been neglecting my blog quite a biit. OR alot. Either way, I haven't written anything in awhile.
HERE GOES
So I'm in Fredericton, the small yet wonderful place I miss when I'm stuck in the metro or lost on the sketchy streets of the crowded and busy Montreal. The bus was long and miserable, thank the heavens for laptops and movies or I would have died. My mother moved out of our cozy apartment in downtown Fredericton while I was in Montreal. To a large and very nice house in Mazerolle settlement, but it's SO FAR. SO FAR. SO FAR. SOOOOO FAAAAAAAR. Look it up. Seriously. I miss downtown.
I've seen lots o' friends. Which is nice ! IN FACT. I have not slept at home since I got here.
Funny story about that. I was downtown, waiting for a friend, at about 3 in the afternoon. That particular friend got held up til about 9pm. YES 9pm. So I was STUCK in town. Luckily at about 5pm I met up with another friend and chilled at her place, but then the STORM hit. And my other friend (the one i was supposed to meet in the first place) calls at 9pm and comes to get me. But seeing as the storm was OUT OF CONTROL at this point, there was NO WAY I was going back home. Mazerolle Settlement is a death trap in a storm. So, I slept over. Now, the next morning, there's still no streets near my house plowed, and there's no electricity. So I'm currently stranded downtown. AGAIN. Except this time, i'm not showered, wearing the same clothes i was wearing yesterday, yesterdays makeup and no tooth brush. KILL ME PLEASE.
I had a bunch of metro adventures I wanted to tell too, but I took too long to get to it, so I forgot them all. SORRY ! haa I'm useless :)
I FOUND MY GLASSES !!
Yes, that's right. Some angel picked them up in the metro and brought them to the Lost and Found at the Berri-UQAM metro station. How wonderful is that ?
Another bit of good news, last Tuesday I saw Bob Dylan at the Bell Centre in Montreal. I died. It was amazing. I was in the second row, on the floor. The legend that is Bob Dylan was RIGHT THERE in front of my face. It was awesome.
<3<3<3
A VIDEO JUST POUR TOI.
Stuck Inside a Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again - Bob Dylan
Got some sad sad news. I lost my glasses. The glasses I loved oh so much. This is how it happened. Last week, my very last pair of contact lenses ripped in two. SO I had to wear my glasses obviously, because unfortunatly, I'm blind as bat. Friday night, we were going out for a friends birthday, so we were in the metro (most of my adventures seem to always take place in the metro...), it was about 11pm. My glasses were bugging me, so I took them off and put them in my coat pocket. We got on the metro, and I sat down and searched for my glasses. I could NOT find them. I emptied my pockets, searched the train, looked everywhere. So Camille and I got off at the next station and went back in the other direction to go look where we were before. Still no glasses. So at this point, you can imagine my panic. I could never let Camille stray too far from me during our search because otherwise I couldn't tell who was her in the crowd of blurry people. haha So we went outside for some ar and possibly a bathroom, because we had drank and not gone to the bathroom yet (for some strange reason METRO STATIONS DON'T HAVE BATHROOMS AND IT SUCKS.) Anywhoo. So picture this, life without my glasses or contacts for me is like a mess of colorful blurry blobs. We're outside in the dark in downtown Montreal. I was FREAKING OUT. Blind as a bat, I tell you. It's not even an exageration. SO, no contacts, no glasses, and no optometrist open on weekends. What was I to dooooo ? I wore my dads glasses all weekend. That's what I did. Luckily his prescription is close to mine.
THESE are MY lovely lost glasses :(
and THESE are my dads NOT SO LOVELY glasses.
Yeah. So that was my shitty weekend. haha
On a lighter note, I now have even BETTER contacts then before, ones that I can SLEEP with ! I never have to take them off !!!!!! :D
This is me sleeping with contacts. UH HUH. COOL EH? YES. I THINK SO.
NOOOOWWWW, I'll leave you with Easy/Lucky/Free by Bright Eyes. One of my faaavorite songs.
YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS ?? (Hommage to Family Guy.)
Today, I was in the metro with TONS of bags. I'm talking about a 1234567890 pound bookbag (complete with computer and psychology brick/book) a big bag of clothing and my always-oh-so-filled-up purse. I was heading home, not feeling so well. It was PACKED in the metro. No room to breathe. But HALLELUJAH to my supreme joy, there was free seat. It was a window seat, and a lady was sitting in the aisle seat, blocking the way. So I came struggling over, asked her nicely if she could move over so I could sit, and the giant MITTEN of a woman (I say mitten because her hair was strangely in the shape of a mitten, you know the ones with a thumb but no fingers.) scootes her legs over to the left, expecting me to friggen climb over her giant clammy looking legs to get to the window seat. At this point, I wasn't laughing at the mitten hair. I was cursing it. DAMN PIECE OF KNITTED WINTER WEAR. By the time I had struggled over her and sat down with my oodles of bags, it was my stop. GODDAMN. I was angry. I don't understand people who try to complicate everybody elses life. Seriously.
Imagine this less coloured and with a woman underneath.
Another thing about people in the metro that makes me wonder, is the people that wear sunglasses. Let's, just for fun, name of the list of words that describe the metro: - sombre. - humid. - eerie. - UNDER FRIGGEN GROUND - DARK - NOT VERY GOOD LIGHTING.
Anyways, there is no reason why anyone would need to wear sunglasses in the metro. Save yourself the trouble of bumping into walls and falling down stairs. Take 'em off.
Anyways, that's all for my metro rants.
OBAAAMAAAAA WOOONNNNNNNN BAMALABAM OBAMA ! It's about time the States got a decent president. What I don't understand, is how the SAME population that voted for Barack this time, voted for Bush. TWICE. I guess they needed change. WELL THEY DEFINATLY GOT IT.
It's still sinking in. Wow.
In other news, WATCH THIS MOVIE.
It's about a young Ethiopan who pretends to be a jew so that he can be taken to Isreal and saved from his refugee camp in Soudan where everyone was dropping like flies. He moves to Isreal and is adopted by a jewish family. He struggles with his identity and culture schock and vows to return to his mother in Soudan.
This movie was indredible. 10 out of 10. BY FAR. COUP DE COEUR.
Look what they got me for my birthday ! :) They thought of me when the poster sale went through UNB in Fredericton !
OH AND LOOK WHERE I PLACED IT ON MY WALL ! :D
While I'm at it, I'm just going to give a little tour of my posters on my walls. ENJOY !
This is Ernest Hemingway shaking hands with Fidel Castro. On the left is my ''The Junction'' poster.
This is The Junction again, chillin with the Beatles on the left, then next to them is Frank Sinatra. Just hangin'.
This is the busy corner. That monitor is decoration. Seriously. ha. There's a Coldplay poster, a dictionary, a feather, paints and stuff, my own creations (not so good ones unfortunatly haaha), and Jack Kerouac.
Next up we have a lovelypicture of the Fredericton walking bridge and a NO SMOKING poster. My scarves are chillin' there too. ARTSY DECO, that's what they arreeee.
Now, this blank spot on my wall,
is reserved for my Marilyn Monroe poster, which has not been put up yet due to my extreme procrastination problem (this also explains the lack of blog posts in the past month...).
NOW. You've probably all realized by now that I'm a big fan of Andy Warhol. WELL GUESSWHAT.
WARHOL LIVE, the Andy Warhol art exhibit is currently at the Musée des Beaux-arts de Montreal. I'm going.
BTW I had a great time in Fredericton, thanks for asking. :D I saw all my friends got some good hangout time in. Mid. terms. in. 2. days. have. not. studied. We'll see how that goes. :)
So my birthday was onnnn Thursday. Yay I'm 18 ! We went to ''La Maisonnée'' a Kareoke-resto-bar. No. I didn't sing. haha That was definatly a good time, my first outing to bar at the legal age ! But what was even MORE of a good time, was the next morning when I had to get up at 7am for class. It didn't help that I had a little too much to drink the night before. Mhhhmm. Psychology with a GIANT coffee ! That was me on Friday morning.
Saturday I went to LA RONDEEEE with some of my friends :) They have this thing called ''Les samedis d'humour'' where comedians do stand up every Saturday. We saw Réal Béland, a comedian, my new idol. ahaa I recommend ''Les voisins dhantsu''. He goes to Tokyo with this other guy, and they do a bunch of crazy stuff. It's awesome.
This is Réal Béland (the one with the crazy hair) annnnd the other guy (the one with no hair):
We went on a buncha rides and stayed til closing. Gooooood times.
YESTERDAYYYY I was on the metro and saw two more ELDERS (see previous blog, can't remember wich one) trying to convert people on the metro ! I forget their names unfortunatly, but it was quite hilariously wonderful. I always sit and WISH that they'll come talk to me. But they never do. Probably because I'm the creeper that stares at them. Ahhhh well.
I also saw a man in the metro who was playing classical guitar for money.. I was mesmerized. It was amazing, I litteraly was fixed in the spot in front of him and couldn't stop listening, it was just so beautiful. It makes you wonder why he's sitting in the metro for money when he can play that well. His guitar was a beat up and scratched, yet he was playing it and it sounded like a brand new amazing guitar. AHH I gave him all the change I had in my wallet. haha
NOW. Here's a good song for you to listen to. Don't mind the video. It's one of those homemade youtube ones. Song's called ''Jezebel'' and it's by Iron and Wine.
SO. I'm 18 in 3 days, you know what that means ! I'M OLD ENOUGH TO VOTE ! October 14th, the day of TRUTH. haa I always told my dad that if he could get me a fake ID, it wouldn't be to go out clubbing, but to vote. That's right. haha Politics is my thing. I believe the more you can do for your country, the better. I'm not going to say who I'm voting for. I don't feel like starting debates. You vote for who YOU think will be the best leader, which is what I plan on doing. Here's what we've got:
- Stephen Harper,Conservative http://www.conservative.ca/EN/1002
- Stépane Dion, Liberal http://www.liberal.ca/vis_leader_f.aspx
- Jack Layton, NDP http://www.ndp.ca/node/35
If you're 18, I'm not even kidding, DO IT. VOTE. I left websites under each party to visit, to help you decide who you think deserves to run our country. I'm totally neutral. I'm not trying to make anyone lean in any specific direction, READ, COMPARE, DECIDE, VOTE. That's the way to go.. ! Research first. Always helps.
SOO here's my step-sister :)
As for my EVERYDAY pictures, I'll admit it, I forgot one day. BUT I took two in one day to make up for it.. haha
Today, I sat in Second Cup and did homework. But I also observed people. Like always. And i spotted an interesting person. She was decked out from head to toe, in RED. A red shirt, just plain red, nothing else. Red pants, a different red, still just plain and a pair of red and white sneakers. It was a shocking sight but I thought I would mention it because it stuck with me so much for some reason. Call me weird I don't know. But I thought it was very interesting.
I adopted one of the Second Cups here in Montreal. It'll never replace the one in Fredericton where I spent 80% of my time, but it'll have to do. So many memories are associated to that Second Cup in Freddy. <3
HOLAAA Sorry, it's been awhile, I've been busy busy ! It happens ! (Not too busy to take my EVERYDAY pictures, I swear. I haven't missed a day !)
Lots of little interesting pieces of news,Friday was Tanya's party, I met a TON of awesome people, I had a greeeeat time :)I slept over there THEEEN, I went to work. AND I QUIT. HAHAAAAA NO MORE IGA.
School etc, is going great. I met a girl named Camille who knows a bunch of my Fredericton friends. Can you say SMALL WORLD !? I think SO. What are the odds of finding someone in Montreal that's from the same province as you and knows a coupla your friends? WHAT ARE THE ODDS.
ANYWHOOO, the EVERYDAY pictures are becoming a hassle to upload all the time and blah blah, so I will stop posting them on here. I'll still be taking them, but not posting. TOO complicated. PLUS if I'm really going to go to my goal of 100, then there's going to be a HECK of alot of pictures of me on here. Too many. ahaa
But here's something interesting, I've been observing the people here in Montreal. I notice all the different types. I'm not judging people, don't get mixed up. I observe and note certain similarities in looks, actions to others around them, usually dependent on the area where I am at that particular moment. Anyways, point is, I've been making a list of funny/interesting people/couples that I see around town, on the metro, at the bus station, etc. If you read my last blog post, then you know about Elder Decker who serves Jesus Christ. That was my first note ! Today I noted 2 people/group of people that struck my interest. And made me laugh. Not gonna lie. haha
The first one, was a couple I saw on the metro. They were standing together right in the middle of the train, holding on to each other like there was no tomorrow, MAKING OUT. Right there in the metro. You know, I'm all for showin' loooove and whatnot. But, haha, they were grasping on to each other SO TIGHT and their lips were suctionned (spell check?) together so tightly, that when they were bumped around on the metro, they moved AS ONE. Not an eyelid lifted, not a lip un-suctionned, not a hand removed from the other's body. If they fell, they probably would have fallen in the same position they were standing in and continued making out on the buggy sticky metro floor. Definatly an interesting sight. No one else seemed to notice. Maybe us maritimers arn't used to that kind of thing, or maybe people just ignored them. Either way, it was weird.
ANOTHERRR, was a guy I saw at the bus terminal. He was sitting, crossed legged on the floor with EEENORMOUS earphones taking over his whole head. But that's not the funny part. So he was listening to apparently inspiring (and very loud; you could hear it within a 100 metre radius of his person)music, because he was SO INTO IT. His head was bobbin' up and down, sometimes side to side, his legs were shaking to the beat of the music, he was mumbling the words and taping his knee with his hand. Then he pulls the ''I really wanna air guitar right now'' move. That's right, he's wiggling his fingers like he's playing the strings, and his other hand his subtlely on his side ''holding a guitar''. By subtlely i mean he was trying to hide it. HAHA He looked like he was just about ready to break out into some hardcore air guitar and put on a show. But then his bus came, and i was like, Damn. We missed his solo. Anyway, that made me giggle. But not too much, because the people waiting at the bus terminal with me already thought i was insane. Not gonna get into that. haha
ANYWHOOOOOOOOO I feel bad leabing you guys with all this writing and no pictures to go along, sooooo look at this.
If you have read 1984 by George Orwell, you will think this commercial is AWESOME. Keep in mind, it was released at the superbowl in, yes you guessed it, 1984.
Sooo it's September 11th. Sad day. This is the one and only day of the year when all I think about is the United States. Someone asked me a good question the other day, ''Do you remember exactly what you were doing and where you were when you found out about the crashes?''. How about you, do you remember ? Funny thing is, I do remember exactly what I was doing. I have a hard time remembering the stuff I did the day after, so this was shocking for me. Seeing as I was 11 years old when it happened. I was sitting in the car with my pappy and my brother, my pappy had just picked us up from the Boys and Girls Club. He told us what happened, this was after only the first plane had crashed. I had a hard time understanding the importance of the situation. All my 11 year old mind could think about was ''Why would someone want to crash a plane into a building for no reason?'' I couldn't couldn't grasp the political and religious meaning behind the attacks. Later, I realized how this event was going to stick in our minds for the rest of our lives. It wasn't just some plane crash that happens everyday. I saw on television when the second plane crashed, and it seemed so surreal. Like it was happening in another world. I had a moment of silence today, I hope everyone else did too. We need to remember this, to never forget it. So many people were affected by this, not only in the United States, but here in Canada too. All over the world. <3
On a lighter note. I got a job today ! That's right. I work in the ''Meals'' section of the IGA grocery store. I don't think I'm going to last long there.
Here's my EVERYDAY picture of the day.
DAY 12
Thinking about everyone who was lost in September 11th. xoxoxox
I had an intersting conversation about communism last night. I've been called a ''stupid communist'' and tons of other stupid comments by stupid people who don't understand. I want to make things straight. THIS IS WHAT I THINK. I think that Karl Marx and his ideas, Marxism, have been extremely missunderstood. He was a man who wanted to do some good, by creating a classless society where everyone would be an equal. No rich no poor, etc. He had good ideas that unfortunatly backfired when a few power hungry people destroyed the communist ''rep'' if you will by taking power and creating a dictatorship. As Hal Draper put it,''there are few thinkers in modern history whose thoughts has been so badly misrepresented like Marx''. ANYWAY I know i'm being vague but I'm not going to get into details again. All this to say that I AM NOT A COMMUNIST. I just have opinions and ideas. And my opinion is that Karl Marx was not a bad person. This would also explain the fact of why I have a Karl Marx sticker on my wallet. Which is pretty much the main reason why this kind of argument always starts. Labels like ''communist'' are thrown around by people who don't understand it. ANYWAYS. Thats it.
If it's not working, GO TO THIS LINK. http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1829759 Watch this video, i'm not even joking it's totally worth it. You will NOT be dissapointed.
Funny story. I was in the metro on my way to school today, and a young looking man, probably about 20 years old, dressed very clean cut, with a name tag that said ''ELDER Decker - I serve Jesus Christ'', was trying to convert people. In the metro. HAHA I couldn't help but laugh. He had a little book called ''The Mormon Book'' that he was trying to give people. No one took it. I giggled.
Anyways, contiuum of the EVERYDAY pictures.
DAY 11 (Double digits. woooo. I'm doing good.)
DAY 12
ANYWHO. THATS ALL. BYE. AUREVOIR. ARRIVADERCHI (I'm assuming thats how its spelled).
T.O.D.A.Y. I did nothing. I drove my brother to his sketchy school on a sketchy narrow road that goes on for ever. Then I went back home and slept all day. TOMORROW I DREAD CLASS.
Whatev. That's University life. haha
SOO random comment, THIS MAN IS A GENIUS.
Conor Oberst. Mastermind of Bright Eyes. Best band ever created. EVER. Talent and genius pours from every word he sings.
I HAVE FRIENDS. I met lots of cool people. :) I'm happy !
THE PAST THREE DAYS.
Friday night, 10 of us chilled/loitered (wtv you wanna call it) in the Tim's for like 2 hours. haha Good times. Later, 4 of us drove by skanky girls and honked and laughed at them (we're cool). At like 1am, we ate at Chenoy's 25Hour Deli (yes, that's right 25 hours. Not 24.) Had some good laughs. haha CHENOY-INGS. Sleepover at Ally's. I stepped in dog pee. YUM. hahaha
Saturday morning/afternoon, we chilled, ate a CORAS. Ally, Kayla and I. Lots of changing/exchanging clothes and shoes. haaha The beauty of being the same size. Saturday night, Kayla and I met Caitlin at the Bus station, STUPID SECOND CUP GUY WHO THINKS CHAI LATTES HAVE ESPRESSO. JEEEEZ. We went to the Jupiter Room bar, SO MANY GOOD TIMES. haha
''I LOVE THE SOUND GUY. Where is he??? I can't see him... OHNO did he LEAVE !?!?!?!'' -Kayla
''I deserve a drink for that !'' - Hottie with a body ''You deserve a FUCK for that.'' (mumble under her breath) - Kayla
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
We went to the pharmacie and bought a package of ''Incognito'' pads. Kayla kept them in her purse because I had no room in mine. We were going down the escalator at the metro station, when Kayla decides to pitch the bag of pads onto the stairs and to scream: ''PADS IN THE ESCALATOR !!!!!!! But no one will notice, because they're INCOGNITO.'' HAAAAA After, we met up with the guys and I had my first Shisha bar experience, pretty cool stuff ;) It's a bar with low lights, loud trippy music and tables with neat colorful cushions and tables with bong type looking things that you smoke flavoured tabacco out of. Cool stuff.
Then sleepover at Kayla's ! haa
I love them. Great bunch of people haha
Anyways, here the next few pictures from EVERYDAY
DAY 8 ( I wasn't home at all during the day, and i remembered to take it on the bus. haa)

1984 by George Orwell ( Written in 1949 ! )
I thought of you when I bought this Francis ! ahaa Next is Animal Farm !
I like being around people. But I like not being around people too.
I tend to contradict myself, it happens.
I like to think I'm unique, just like everybody else.
Andy Warhol said it best: I think everybody should like everybody.
